Boise, ID, May 22, 2018 — Wyakin Foundation, a Boise-based nonprofit that connects wounded and injured veterans to their successful futures through education, development, and guidance, is hosting its second annual Cornhole Showdown & Festival on Saturday, June 16th at Sockeye Brewery in Boise.

Register your team today!

“Last year, patrons pitched corn bags alongside our veterans and made lasting (and some humorous) memories. We want to repeat that experience this year and educate more people about what we do as an organization”, said Brent Taylor, Wyakin’s Executive Director.

Now in the tournament’s second year, Wyakin has teamed up with the experts at Cornhole Idaho to ensure its smooth operation. “We organized this event to make sure everyone has a great time—from novice players to advanced competitors—all in the name of benefitting those who served and sacrificed”, said Travis Fullmer, co-founder of Cornhole Idaho, an organization that volunteers to run local charity competitions. “We anticipate a big turnout.”

Registration is now open at www.wyakin.org and closes June 13th. $60 will get you entry for a team of two, two t-shirts and two raffle tickets (though you can purchase more to bump your odds). The Festival will also host food trucks, a bounce house for kids, raffle prizes, and an extended beer permit for the play area courtesy of Sockeye Brewery, so you can sip a cold one while you toss your corn bags, depending on how competitive you feel that day. (This is a family-friendly event, so the organizers ask that everyone enjoys themselves while exercising good judgment regarding alcohol.)

Event in a nutshell: Saturday, June 16 at Sockeye Brewery (12542 W Fairview Ave.). Registration open now, ending June 13 at www.wyakin.org. Team check-in opens at noon; “Last Man Standing” round begins at 1:30pm; “First Toss” to start tournament begins shortly after.
