With decades of experience in communications, government relations and crisis management, Baker now leads Portman Square Group Communications. Prior to founding PSG, Baker was Managing Partner and a Shareholder at Gallatin Public Affairs. Baker also spent 15 years between DC and New York and during that time was appointed by President George W. Bush to lead the General Services Administration (GSA) Northeast and Caribbean region and prior to that, to serve as Deputy Director of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs with the U.S. Department of Commerce. She also worked for former RNC Chair and Governor Haley Barbour at BGR Group. Emily began her career in Idaho as a policy aide to Governor Phil Batt.
Appointed by Governor Butch Otter, Emily serves on the Idaho Strategic Energy Alliance Board. She also serves on the Executive Board for the Boise State University Foundation, the Executive Board of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors for the Wyakin Foundation, and the Advisory Board for Idaho Women in Leadership. A fifth-generation Idahoan, Emily, her husband Mike and their three boys now call Boise home.
