Igor Kirdanov

U.S. Army

Boise State University

Let’s celebrate one of Wyakin’s 2024 Spring Graduates, Igor Kirdanov, who has achieved a significant milestone in his academic and military journey.

Igor’s journey with the Wyakin Foundation began in August 2022, and he was intrigued by the Networking and Professional Development tenets. Since then, he has completed an internship at PetIQ before securing a full-time job at the same company. He graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor’s in Finance and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Idaho Army National Guard.

The Wyakin Foundation was honored to attend Igor’s commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Idaho Army National Guard by his Wyakin Career Mentor, Andrew Bettinson, on May 3rd, 2024. Andrew shared with the Wyakin team that he was “extremely honored” to have been asked to swear Igor in.

Having already achieved multiple outstanding accomplishments, which speak volumes about Igor’s hard work and dedication, he is still striving to reach his next academic challenge: a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis on Finance from Boise State University.

Upon learning about the MBA program at Boise State, Igor immediately reached out to the Wyakin Foundation’s Career Development Coordinator, Alice Pyle (now Community Engagement Coordinator), about preparing his resume and cover letter for his application to the MBA program. Igor and Alice met the following week and got everything updated and ready for his application.

Igor was accepted into Boise State’s MBA program. His first semester of courses began just two days after walking across the stage at the Spring 2024 Boise State University commencement ceremony.

“The determination and drive that Igor possesses to expand his knowledge and step outside his comfort zone to best prepare himself for a civilian career after education is inspiring.” Alice said, “He’s already shown what he is capable of during his military career and continues to grow in that space. Now, Igor can build a network, expand his civilian career knowledge, and apply what he’s learned in the military and education to his current and future positions. I do not doubt that Igor is going to find success in the civilian sector in the Finance field.”

The Wyakin Foundation is incredibly proud to continue our journey with Igor as he pursues his MBA. After he graduates with his Master’s, Igor will become a Wyakin Alumni, entering the Wyakin for Life program, a testament to the collective success of Wyakin Veterans who have completed the program.
