Wyakin Foundation receives grant from the Idaho Community Foundation for $6,000
BOISE, Idaho; December 6, 2022 — The Wyakin Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $6,000 grant from the Southwest Forever Idaho Grant Program in the Idaho Community Foundation. These funds will support the Wyakin Foundation’s Classic and Wyakin Works programs by providing critical funding for the monthly educational grants veterans receive.
The Wyakin Foundation takes the mystery out of military to civilian transition with two paths for veterans to choose from. The Classic Wyakin program supports those pursuing two-year, four-year, or post-graduate degrees, and the Wyakin Works program focused on vocational trades, certificates, and apprenticeships. Veterans in the Wyakin Foundation program receive mentorship, professional development, networking, a sense of community and service, educational and financial assistance, and an alumni network called Wyakin for Life.
Executive Director Cory Rodriguez stated, “At the Wyakin Foundation, we are invested in success as the Warrior defines it. We take a holistic approach to support each individual veteran and their goals. We are serving our largest class ever at 60 veterans and thanks to the Idaho Community Foundation we will be able to continue to meet the needs of veterans in Southwest Idaho.”
Veterans in the Wyakin Foundation who actively participate in the program are eligible for a monthly grant to support their educational goals. The grant from the Idaho Community Foundation will support monthly grants for up to 19 veterans in the Wyakin programs.
