Celebrating Wyakin Wins!

By May 13, 2022No Comments

There is a lot to celebrate at the Wyakin Foundation this week and we are excited to share a recap with you!

First up, Putts for Patriots

The first ever Putts for Patriots was an unbelievable success, raising $116,080 thanks to the support of our Committee Chairs Alisha Phillips and Kristi Saucerman with Auction Frogs and Lucas O’Neill with City of Trees Real Estate, and our Presenting Sponsor Kendall Auto. We’d also like to thank all the sponsors that came out in support of the Wyakin Foundation, Micron Technology Veteran’s Resource Group, Boise Muffler Fairview and Boise Muffler Garden City, Christian Brothers Automotive, Kimberly Shurtleff State Farm Insurance, and Western States Equipment. Thank you to Phillips Connect and Justin Ashley Racing for donating an NHRA Race Package to our Live Auction. Save the date for next year May 20, 2023.

One of the greatest joys of this event was working with our incredible nonprofit partners. The Idaho Veteran Chamber of Commerce bridges the gap between the military and civilian community by providing resource connections for education, housing, entrepreneurship, workforce management, and family and wellness services. 208 Cares builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes for disabled veterans, enabling them to rebuild their lives. The Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance helps veterans reconnect and find success through entrepreneurship by providing education in business practices, learning how to launch and scale up a business, and through connection to other veterans and the business community. Next, Idaho Gives

Thank you to the donors that helped us raise $21,003 during the 2022 Idaho Gives Campaign

Thanks to all of our amazing supporters we had a RECORD SETTING year and raised a total of $21,003 during Idaho Gives, more than DOUBLE our original goal! The Wyakin Foundation placed 37th out of 637 nonprofits located throughout Idaho.

We would like to acknowledge the generosity of two of our major donors Colby and Corrine Inzer, and Col. Duane and Jan Hardesty, thank you for making this historic year possible. The money raised is enough to support the $320 monthly grant of every Warrior currently enrolled in the Wyakin program. We cannot say thank you enough!

Boise Metro Chamber Nonprofit of Excellence Award Winner!

That’s right, the Wyakin Foundation was not only a finalist for this year’s Boise Metro Chamber’s Nonprofit Award but we WON! It was an incredibly humbling experience to be among other great nonprofits like the Downtown Boise Association and the Boise Botanical Gardens. The award is a true acknowledgment of all the hard work each of our Warriors, Wyakin Alumni, volunteers, community mentors, Board of Directors, and staff dedicates to our veterans and the broader Treasure Valley community. Job well-done Wyakin Family!

In Case You Missed It:

Our Casablanca Casino Night is May 20th at the Boise Depot. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable evening that will include live music, games, door prizes, hosted beer and wine, and more! See the “Spring Events Blog Post” for more information about that event.

The Wyakin Foundation is a proud partner with the Phillips Connect and Justin Ashley NHRA Racing team for the remainder of the 2022 season. The Wyakin logo will be proudly displayed on the car and Wyakin Warriors will be able to attend races for the remainder of the season.
